Woodblock printing originated in China as a method for printing on textiles and paper. In this class, children will carve a design of their choice into a prepared piece of cherry wood and then print onto card. Children will be taught correct handling techniques of sharp chisels and this class is a great introduction to carving.
Children will use Lino instead of Wood block printing if they find the wood blocks too difficult.
Minimum age for this class is 8 years old ***a small admin fee will be charged on your refund if you book a child under the age of 8 into this class.**
It is recommended for children to wear old cloths as we will be using printing ink.
