Sashiko is a form of embroidery developed in Japan hundreds of years ago. The beautiful patterns are made up of many small simple stitches and the white thread on Indigo coloured fabric is quite striking. There are hundreds of patterns and children will be able to choose a pattern to work on the day.
In this class, children will learn how to thread a needle, do basic running stitch and follow a pattern.
The finished sewn pattern will be mounted into a wood hoop for display.
****This class is recommended for children 7+****
